La Bottega del Ferro was born from the passion of the craftsman Cosimo “Mino” Sabetta, a passion he passed on to his sons Marco and Andrea. It is their synergy, and their shared ideals, that set them apart.
Who is Mino Sabetta.
Mino Sabetta is sixty years old and has been a wrought-iron craftsman since childhood: at just eight he set foot in a small village workshop and fell in love with it. At eighteen his passion took him to Turin, where for ten years he perfected the craft of hot metalworking, creating works across Piedmont. In 1990 he returned to his Salento and opened «La Bottega del Ferro» in Squinzano, in a small shed with an old coal stove — still working today — with which he does the forging. Since 2003 the forge has stood in the artisan district of Squinzano, a few kilometres from Lecce, where Mino still works in the traditional way alongside his sons Marco and Andrea and his team, in constant collaboration with architects and interior designers, for works destined to private clients and public bodies and for the restoration of the old buildings of historic centres.
The spark
Mino first sets foot in a small village workshop and falls in love with it.
Turin
His passion takes him north: ten years perfecting hot metalworking, with works across Piedmont.
The return
He comes back to his Salento and lights the forge: La Bottega del Ferro is born, in a small shed with an old coal stove.
Squinzano
The workshop moves to the artisan district of his home town, joined by his sons Marco and Andrea.

La Bottega del Ferro is recognised among the historic artisan businesses of the area: an acknowledgement that rewards the continuity, quality and cultural value of a craft handed down and cared for with dedication for over thirty years.
It is not a mere formal recognition: it is confirmation that a business born in 1993 keeps living and working with the same hands and the same passion, generation after generation. A heritage that also belongs to the land of Salento.
For us it is not a finish line but a responsibility: to keep forging iron as it was once done, with the care of the first day, putting our experience at the service of every client.
We work in Squinzano, in the province of Lecce, and serve all of Salento.
From here we reach private homes, villas, masserie, B&Bs, resorts, businesses and public bodies, bringing wrought iron where it is needed: in new projects as well as in the restoration and upkeep of the ironwork of the old buildings in historic centres.
Constant collaboration with architects and interior designers lets us set every work in its context, with balance and measure. Because a wrought-iron piece is never just an object: it is part of the architecture and history of the places it inhabits.
